Design Philosophy

Rebirth’s design philosophy is built on the concept of innovation. Every decision made in pursuit of significant improvement. Every decision is considered in how and what it communicates, and the story that it tells.



Brand Strategy

Rebirth’s strategy expands the concept of re-creating oneself throughout its community, messaging, collections, and design.

 

Rebirth is about overcoming what hold us back from becoming our true selves – who we are meant to be.

 

The distinct brand concept creates a strong purpose and direction, paving the way for a consistent story to be told. Throughout their collections, Rebirth pursues ideas that relate to the development of self, literal and abstract – and what meanings can be derived for each and everyone of us. The distinct strategy allows for the brand to explore diverse concepts that all connect under an umbrella of re-creation. This allows for many distinct stories to be told, while still building a consistent brand.


Rebirth is a window into a world that we all share. A world that we all struggle through. A world of pain and failure. A world that drives us to be the absolute best version of ourselves.



Visual Identity

The main typeface was intentionally chosen for its distinct expression and personality. Sharp, extended serifs pull queues from darker eras, while leaving a sense of hope. 


The marble mark is designed to be the center piece, a defining part of the brand identity. However, it can be used as a supporting element. It’s designed to become the core mark of the brand, something that is identifiable as Rebirth, a mark that is not necessarily simple or minimal, but still distinct and recognizable. It has a loud and busy aesthetic but is used in a reserved way throughout its application. 

 

The tagline “Recreate yourself” was intentionally made with a distinct handwritten form, that teeters on the edge of readability - emphasizing form over function.



Social Media

Instagram is the home base for the brand. A portfolio that expresses what the brand has created, the story it is telling, and what it is capable of.

 

The Instagram highlights Rebirths current pursuit to merge the fashion and music scene. Where conceptual photoshoots are combined with distinct concert photography, highlighting the talented music community in Edmonton.

 

Music & Fashion. Two distinct, divided scenes in Edmonton that share more similarities than differences. Two communities that share one common goal, to create something bigger than themselves.



Website

The current purpose of the website is an extension of the brand, where a story directed to artists is told, a place for art and creativity to rest, a digital place for their community to bring their story into the physical world. The future plan for the website is to incorporate a page focused on their future collection collabs with artists.
